Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych has signed a law cancelling three laws on preventing and combating corruption in Ukraine.

The law was posted on the president’s Web site on Tuesday. The document comes into effect on the day of its publication.

The law canceled the laws on the principles for preventing and combating corruption in Ukraine, on the responsibility of legal entities for committing corruption offences, and on amendments to some Ukrainian laws on punishments for corruption.

As reported, on December 21, 2010, MPs included on the agenda of the Verkhovna Rada’s session the presidential bill on the principles for preventing and combating corruption in Ukraine, having cancelled three earlier adopted laws on combating corruption.

The first vice speaker of the parliament, Adam Martyniuk, said parliament would approve the presidential draft law in January 2011.
