The Regions Party faction in parliament is considering extending the work of the current session of the Verkhovna Rada for a week.

“Yes, [the question of extending the session] is being considered,”
faction leader Oleksandr Yefremov said at a press briefing on Tuesday.

At the same time, he declined to predict whether the current session could be extended.

“We’ve discussed such options within the faction. Moreover, an
instruction was given to prepare a respective draft resolution. If we
have no time to consider a number of landmark bills, we will insist on
having another session week,” he said.

Yefremov said that this week was needed to consider more than 30
priority bills, such as the language bill, the bill on a luxury tax, and
a bill on the cancellation of deputy immunity.

In accordance with the schedule of the tenth session of the Verkhovna
Rada, its official closure is scheduled for July 6. However, the
schedule foresees that from July 9 to July 13 MPs will work in
committees and factions.
