Astana - Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev has called on the sides in the Ukrainian conflict to abide by the latest Minsk agreements and stop shelling.

“Like the entire international community, which is looking forward to this, we are now calling for the strict implementation of the ceasefire agreements reached earlier and the settlement of all remaining political issues. The whole world is looking forward to this,” Nazarbayev said at a meeting with foreign diplomats accredited in Kazakhstan in Astana on Feb. 17.

“I am deeply convinced that there is no alternative to a peaceful solution to the conflict in the south-east of Ukraine,” the Kazakh leader said.
