MOSCOW - Russian agricultural watchdog Rosselkhoznadzor is banning imports from Las Camelias (No. 2589), a poultry meat supplier in Argentina.

The ban, which takes effect on June 2, applies to poultry meat, variety meat and fats. It was triggered by violations of Russian phyto-sanitary requirements, specifically, the detection of mesophilic aerobic and facultative-anaerobic microorganisms.

Product shipped by Las Camelias before the ban enters force will be subject to strengthened monitoring.

Twenty Argentinean enterprises are on the list of meat suppliers to Russia, of which three are currently banned from exporting product.
