Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov discussed the settlement of the Iran nuclear problem with Deputy Secretary General for the EU External Action Service (EAS) Helga Schmid at a meeting in Moscow, the Russian Foreign Ministry said.

Ryabkov and Schmid “substantively considered the negotiating process on settling the situation surrounding the Iranian nuclear program, including prospects for developing a comprehensive agreement on this issue by June 30 this year,” the ministry said.

Ryabkov also discussed prospects for settling the situation surrounding the Iranian nuclear program with Indian Ambassador to Moscow Pundi Srinivasan Raghavan. Special significance during the conversation was attached to interaction within the BRICS format during Russia’s chairmanship of this association, the ministry said.
