You're reading: Russian leaders assure Ukraine in unfailing close partnership

Russian President Vladimir Putin and Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev have assured Ukraine that despite reshuffling of their posts their partnership position towards the country remains unchanged.

"I’m always at your disposal. We remain the closest partners," Putin said at a trilateral meeting with Ukrainian Premier Mykola Azarov and Medvedev.
He added that tense work on the realization of joint projects will continue and it is not restricted only by the energy sphere.

"Dmitry [Medvedev] has buried himself in materials," the president said, reminding that earlier the Russian premier held a spot of Gazprom’s Board Chairman.Medvedev assured Azarov that the holding of regular meetings will continue.

The trilateral meeting was held during a break of the United Russia congress on Saturday.
