Sochi - UK Prime Minister David Cameron has said he is pleased to have the opportunity to discuss bilateral relations and the Syrian conflict with Russian President Vladimir Putin. 

Speaking at a meeting with Putin in Russia’s Black Sea resort of Sochi on Friday, Cameron said that Putin and he had a very good opportunity to discuss bilateral ties and the crisis in Syria.

The UK prime minister said he agreed with the Russian president that enhancing bilateral relations would benefit the people of the two countries.

Cameron also reminded Putin about his visit to London during the 2012 Summer Olympic Games.

The UK premier said he hoped that next year’s Winter Olympic Games in Sochi would be successful.

Cameron also welcomed UK companies’ involvement in construction projects ahead of the Sochi Olympics.
