LONDON - United Kingdom Prime Minister David Cameron welcomed the progress that German Chancellor Merkel and French President Hollande had secured through the Normandy format talks over stabilization of the Ukraine situation.

‘The Prime Minister welcomed the progress that Chancellor Merkel and President Hollande had secured through the Normandy format. They agreed that the European Union must maintain sanctions on Russia until the Minsk agreement is fully implemented,’ reads a press release of the United Kingdom premier’s office on the results of his meeting with Merkel in London on Friday.

Cameron and Merkel stressed on the importance of financial and practical support for Ukraine, according to the document.
