Ukraine's NJSC Energoatom and France's AREVA signed a contract in Brussels on April 24, 2015 on the supply of enriched uranium, Energoatom's press service has reported.

“A contract has been signed today to expand cooperation with the world’s leader in the field of nuclear technology – French company AREVA. This contract is a real step towards diversifying the supply of nuclear materials to Ukrainian nuclear power plants,” the press service quoted Energoatom CEO Yuriy Nedashkovsky as saying.

As Energoatom said, AREVA won a tender to supply enriched uranium thanks to an attractive bid and minimized risks for Energoatom, which are stipulated in contract.

The contract was signed by Nedashkovsky and Senior Executive Vice President, Head of Mining & Front-End and Business Groups Olivier Wantz.
