You're reading: A new US Embassy in Kyiv

The U.S. Embassy moves into a $209 million new complex on Jan. 20 that will eventually bring together all operations that had been split across various sites in Kyiv.

The chancery and consulate will be located in the futuristic building at 4 Aircraft Designer Igor Sikorsky Street starting Jan. 20. The U.S.

Agency for International Development, the government-backed organization that provides economic and humanitarian assistance, will move at a later date to the complex, which was built in less than two years.

“It allows almost all of our personnel who are currently spread out in six buildings around the city to work together in one location,” Eric Schultz, deputy chief of mission at the U.S. Embassy, told reporters on Jan. 13.
