You're reading: Activ Solar’s solar power plants in Crimea suspend operation

Solar power plants of Activ Solar in Crimea have suspended their operation, the company's press service has told Interfax-Ukraine.

“All Crimean solar power plants are not generating electricity today. This is linked to the uncertain situation in the regulatory base regarding electricity facilities in Crimea, that is the buyers of electricity and the tariffs have not been defined. Due to the vague situation with the alternative energy in Crimea, new projects of the company at early stages of their development or declared for realization have been suspended,” the press service said.

According to the Russia’s Kommersant newspaper, wind power plants also suspended operation on the territory of the peninsula.

Earlier the acting head of the self-proclaimed Republic of Crimea, Sergei Aksionov, said that projects to build solar power plants in Crimea by Activ Solar were frauds.

Activ Solar considers groundless the claims by Aksionov that its projects on the construction of solar power plants are “fraudulent.”

As reported, Activ Solar built solar power plants with a total capacity of 406.96 MW (110 MW has not connected to the network) in Crimea.
