Rinat Akhmetov's Foundation is supplying militants in Donbas with vodka and cigarettes under the guise of humanitarian aid for civilians, says independent member of parliament Volodymyr Parasiuk, who with other MPs arrived at the checkpoint where this cargo was detained.

“In the ATO [Anti-Terrorist Operation] zone we’ve halted illegal traffic today which in fact is going to terrorists under the guise of humanitarian aid from Rinat Akhmetov’s Foundation for civilians in Donetsk. Tonnes of foodstuffs in trucks with the Akhmetov Foundation logo on them are heading for the warehouse of the Donbass Arena [Stadium], which is guarded by the [terrorist] Vostok battalion. Commodities designed not for children – vodka and cigarettes – are brought as baby products. The product that is most suitable for children was 20 tonnes of semolina,” Parasiuk wrote on Facebook on Dec. 15 evening.

In his words, “local prosecutors and police officers provide a crime-sponsored cover for all this.”

Speaking what they’re going to do with such humanitarian aid, he said that he jointly with volunteers battalions and MPs Semen Semechenko, Yehor Sobolev (the Samopomich Party) and Dmytro Dobrodomov (the Petro Poroshenko Bloc) “had stopped this ‘humanitarian’ convoy and decided that the ‘aid’ should go to residents from nearby villages who also suffer from the lack of products.”

Parasiuk said that the group of members of parliament had visited Krasnoarmisk, Kurakhove, Velyka Novosilka and Artemivsk.

“We’re moving farther, to the frontline,” he said.
