The Day of the Baptism of the Kyivan Rus will be celebrated this weekend in medieval-themed Kyivska Rus Park, 30 kilometers outside Kyiv.
The most important historical event that led to the adoption of Christianity in Rus in 988 will be recreated with a special performance of the park’s theatre.
Visitors will be invited to participate in a flash mob intended to make a giant figure of 988, a symbol of Christianity. Apart from the celebrations, participants can ride a horse and shoot an arrow.
