You're reading: Blast tears through cafe in central Odesa, no one hurt

ODESA - An explosion ripped through a cafe in the center of Odesa, southern Ukraine, at around 2.30 a.m. on July 2, eyewitnesses said on social networking websites.

A photo published by cafe owner Iryna Anhelova on her Facebook account shows that the blast destroyed the entrance door and the signboard and damaged the cafe’s facade and interior premises.

Police are now working at the scene. No official comments concerning the explosion have been issued so far.

No one was hurt in the blast.

It was reported that early on Feb. 22 this year, sappers had defused an explosive device planted at the door of this cafe.
