Ukraine's border with Russia is under impeccable control, Chief of the Ukrainian State Border Guard Service Oleh Slobodian claimed on Thursday.

“All units of the State Border Guard Service deployed on the border
with Russia have been put on high alert … In the event of any
provocation, the State Border Guard Service will be ready for decisive
action under the legislation of Ukraine,” Slobodian told a briefing in
Kyiv.

“To date there have been no provocations on the state border or attempts to block off border guard units,” he said.

He also said that since Wednesday five groups of border guard boats
had been patrolling the coastlines of Ukraine’s Donetsk and Zaporizhia
regions in the Sea of Azov. Other border guard boat groups were
monitoring the Black Sea coast of the Odesa region, he said.

“Tighter measures have been launched throughout the length of the Ukrainian border,” Slobodian said.
