Kyiv's Shevchenkivsky District Court has upheld the detention of a person suspected of threatening the lives of law enforcement officers, Volodymyr Kadura, who is suspected of being in the driver's cabin of a bulldozer during the attempted seizure of the Presidential Administration on Bankova Street on Dec. 1.
An Interfax-Ukraine reporter said that the court issued this ruling
on Friday. Thus, the court rejected a petition lodged by Kadura’s
lawyers regarding the failure to take measures to release the suspect
and close criminal proceedings in connection with the amnesty law.
“The court upheld the position of the prosecutor’s office that the
current legislation does not envisage the possible fulfillment of this
ruling. It’s impossible to observe this law as part of the Criminal
Procedure Code,” the prosecutor of the Shevchenkivsky district,
Viacheslav Marmysh, said, while explaining the reason for rejecting the
petition.
Investigators believe that Kadura was in the driver’s cabin of the
bulldozer and gave orders to the driver to direct the bulldozer at the
line of police officers outside the Presidential Administration on
Bankova Street on Dec. 1.
