The Higher Specialized Court of Ukraine for Civil and Criminal Cases will continue hearing an appeal by former prime minister Yulia Tymoshenko against her sentence in the gas supply case at 1000 on August 21.

Presiding judge Stanistav Mischenko announced this while closing the court sitting on Tuesday, an Interfax-Ukraine correspondent reported.

The working day is over, the judge said, and as only Tuesday and Thursday are slated for appeal hearings in criminal cases on the court’s weekly schedule, a four-day break was announced.

The judge thanked the attendees for tolerance.

Thursday’s hearings ended with prosecutor Serhiy Peresunko asking the court to leave a separate statement by the Pechersky District Court, upheld by higher courts, with regard to Tymoshenko’s defense unchanged.

Before that, a representative of the Naftogaz Ukrainy civil plaintiff had asked the court to uphold the appeal where the civil lawsuit was involved.

Earlier, Tymoshenko was found guilty of abuse of office over the 2009 gas contracts with Russia and sentenced to seven years in prison.
