DONETSK – The inter-district mining prosecutor's office has opened a criminal case over the deaths of workers at a mine owned by Shakhta Torez Shans 2 Ltd., the press service of the Donetsk regional prosecutor’s office has reported.
A roof collapse was reported at the mine at a depth of 300 meters on Friday, March 23. Two people were killed in the accident.
A criminal case was opened under Part 2, Article 272 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (violation of safety rules during the execution of work of heightened danger).
The mine’s director has currently been arrested under Article 115 the Criminal Procedure Code. The prosecutor’s office is conducting an investigation into the case.
