The Kyiv Pechersky District Court has revoked a petition demanding that deputy head of State Emergency Situations Service Vasyl Stoyetsky be placed into custody.

Judge Iryna Lytvynova made the respective decision on March 27.

Representative of the state prosecutor Andriy Shevchenko said there was insufficient evidence of Stoyetsky committing a crime, as is the case for Stoyetsky’s former boss Serhiy Bochkovsky.

Shevchenko said that Stoyetsky was detained for 72 hours and is due to be released at noon on March 28.

As reported, Stoyetsky and Bochkovsky were detained by law enforcement agents during a government meeting on March 25. They were detained on suspicion of abuse of power and corruption.
