The current process of reunification of Crimea and Sevastopol with Russia marks the end of the unipolar world, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Rogozin said on Tuesday.

“I hope this day will be crucially important. Today Russia stated for the first time that the unipolar world is over. It has assumed a huge responsibility,” Rogozin said at an expanded collegium session at Rosoboronzakaz (the Russian Federal Service for Defense Contracts).

The return of Crimea and Sevastopol to Russia is an “historic event,” “a day of the revival of the Russian national self-consciousness,” he said.

Russians are the biggest divided people, with 17.5% of them living outside Russia’s national borders, Rogozin said.

“Today, a significant part of it reunited with Russia, having manifested amazing courage and solidarity, having demonstrated unity,” Rogozin said.
