Donetsk – Around 35 per of spring crops has been sown in Donetsk region, although farmers fear that due to mines they may fail to sow the majority of their land.

The main problem which slows the operation of de-miners today is the absence of mine maps,” Deputy Chairman of the Regional Military-Civil Administration Vladyslav Lavryk said at a meeting with farmers and military personnel devoted to mine clearance, which was held last week.

The press service of the Regional Military-Civil Administration reported that only farmers from the southern district had submitted applications for mine clearance.

In total, only 14 applications have been submitted.

Four pyrotechnic groups have been formed to clear mines.

The press service said that Lavryk had ordered the creation of a clear system of cooperation between military personnel, rescue workers and farmers.
