The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) is ready to finance three projects to build renewable energy facilities worth EUR 25-30 million in Ukraine, EBRD Principal Manager for Energy Efficiency and Climate Change Sergiy Maslichenko said at the 3rd International Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Forum in Kyiv on Monday.

In particular, this concerns the construction of a biogas plant with a capacity of 2.8 MW by Eco-Prod in Donetsk region. In addition, the bank is ready to finance the construction of a wind power plant with a capacity of 12.5 MW in Lviv region (the developer is Eco-Optima). The third project is the construction of a wind power plant with a capacity of 9 MW in Kherson region (the developer is Windkraft).

"These projects have been given preliminarily approval by the bank," said Maslichenko.

According to him, the bank will finance 50% of each project, another 20% will be financed by the Fund for Clean Technologies, and 30% will come from the developer.

The EBRD will fund the projects under the Ukraine Sustainable Energy Lending Facility program (USELF).

According to Maslichenko, in general, the bank has received 49 applications under the program, 25 of which are worth attention. The bank is now analyzing 17 projects.

The EBRD manager said that currently the USELF fund is EUR 50 million, and it would not be difficult to increase it.
