You're reading: Electricity supplies can’t be restored to villages near Sloviansk

An electricity blackout has affected 33 transformer sub-stations and left the village of Manky and part of the village of Semenivka without electricity following a short circuit at the Chervony Molochar substation in the Sloviansk district of Donetsk region, the press service of the Donetskoblenergo energy company reported.

“But repair workers cannot reach the village given the intensive
fighting in Sloviansk and the curfew declared in the city,” it said.

Donetskoblenergo is making strenuous efforts to restore electricity
supplies to its clients and keeps them updated about the cause of the
blackout and duration of the repair work, it said.
