You're reading: Eleven mobile clinics for stray animals arrived to Ukraine by Euro 2012

Rescue vehicles will be based in cities where the Euro 2012 European football championship will be hosted, although actually they will be used all over Ukraine, the press service of the Ecology and Natural Resources Ministry of Ukraine has reported.

The press service said that on March 30, 2012, a convoy of 11 animal rescue vehicles that will render aid to animals was presented near the building of the ministry, in particular, three mobile clinics that vaccinate and neuter dogs, one bear ambulance and seven rescue cars

The press service said that one mobile clinic for stray dogs left for Zaporizhia at once.

The mobile clinic for giving aid and transport bears will be based on the territory of the Synevyr national natural park (Zakarpattia region), at the Bear Rehabilitation Center. The mobile clinic will go to Khmelnytsky region to bring a sick bear from a private circus to the Bear Rehabilitation Center.

A total of 120 specialists from 11 countries will arrive to Ukraine and work jointly with Ukrainian veterinarians to realize a memorandum signed by the Ecology and Natural Resources Ministry of Ukraine and the FOUR PAWS International Animal Charity. They will neuter and vaccinate stray dogs and render medical aid to them.

“It’s very important that obligations the FOUR PAWS International undertaken are being fulfilled. The ministry is providing for as wide as possible organization support to realize our joint project,” Ecology and Natural Resources Minister Mykola Zlochevsky said.
