Eleven Ukrainian servicemen were wounded in a day in the zone of the armed operation in Eastern Ukraine, spokesman for the Ukrainian presidential administration Andriy Lysenko has said.

“None of our military men was killed,” he said at a Sunday briefing in Kyiv.

He said that in the direction of Mariupol Ukrainian positions came under tank fire in the area of Shyrokyne. “The enemy used 122mm ordnance and 120mm mortars against Ukrainian forces deployed in Starohnativka. There were individual provocations near strongholds in Petrovske and Hranitne,” he said.

He said hostilities in the direction of Donetsk continued almost round-the-clock. He said that Ukrainian military positions in the area of Donetsk airport, namely Pisky, Avdiyivka and Opytne, were the main targets.

“The enemy is not stopping attempts to break through our defenses in Maryinka, Krasnohorivka and Troitske and in the area of Horlivka,” Lysenko said.

He said that the opposite side is using a wide range of weapons from small arms and grenade-launchers to 152mm artillery, 120mm mortars and air defense systems.

Lysenko said that large-caliber mortars, air-defense systems and infantry vehicles were used in the direction of Luhansk near Stanytsia Luhanska and Krymske.
