The body of a Ukrainian climber has been found in the Pamir Mountains in Tajikistan, the director of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry's information policy department, Oleh Voloshyn, has told Interfax-Ukraine.

"A rescue operation in the Pamir Mountains (Tajikistan) has been completed, and the body of the Ukrainian climber who went missing on July 31 this year has been found," he said.

Voloshyn noted that two other Ukrainian climbers had been found earlier. One of them is currently in hospital, while the other remained in the mountains to participate in the rescue operation.

Ukrainian diplomats are deciding on the delivery of the deceased to Ukraine and the transportation of other climbers.

As reported, a group of three Ukrainian climbers conquered the Pamir Mountains in Tajikistan. On July 31, one of them fell into the abyss along with all equipment, including a satellite phone. Independent searches were unsuccessful. Only a few days later, the Ukrainians met another group of climbers who got into contact with the Tajik authorities. On August 12, a helicopter of the Defense Ministry of Tajikistan found the Ukrainians. One of them was hospitalized, while the second climber joined the rescuers to search for his colleague who fell from a cliff.
