The Kyiv Pechersky District Court has turned down the Interior Ministry's request for the arrest of former head of the Ukrainian State Emergency Service Serhiy Bochkovsky.

In the opinion of Judge Iryna Lytvynova, the ministry did not present sufficient evidence of the crime, an Interfax-Ukraine correspondent reported.

A prosecutor said Bochkovsky was detained for 72 hours and that period would expire at noon, on March 28.
