You're reading: Gas supplies to self-proclaimed Donetsk republic from Russia continue

Gas is continuing to be shipped to the self-proclaimed Donetsk people's republic (DPR) from Russia, says DPR head Oleksandr Zakharchenko.

“Technical issues are already being resolved,” Zakharchenko told journalists on Feb. 27.

Zakharchenko also said two currency units will be in circulation in the self-proclaimed republic.

“There will be two currency units in the DPR, one of them based on neighborliness and the other on mentality,” he told journalists on Feb. 27.

Zakharchenko also accused Kyiv of tightening the self-proclaimed republic’s blockade.

“Amid a truce, they [Kyiv] have started an economic blockade. They first cut off gas supplies. They’ve done all they could. No food products are being shipped. War is being waged not only on the frontline and in the trenches but also in the economy,” he said.
