You're reading: General fund of national budget has Hr 2.85 billion deficit in May

The deficit of the general fund of Ukraine's national budget in May 2015 totaled Hr 2.85 billion compared to a surplus of Hr 5.06 billion in April and Hr 12.9 billion in March, the Finance Ministry of Ukraine reported last week.

In January-May 2015 the general fund of the national budget had a surplus of Hr 5.96 billion, while year-over-year a deficit of Hr 12.62 billion was foreseen, including a deficit of Hr 4.82 billion in May.

The ministry said that the revenue of the general fund of the national budget in January-May 2015 exceeded revenue for January-May 2014 by 47.9 percent and reached Hr 194.91 billion, while expenses grew by 30.9 percent, to Hr 189.73 billion.

In January-April 2015 revenues of the general fund grew by 45.9 percent and expenses – by 28%.

Taking into account the halving of the special fund, in general, revenue of the national budget in January-May 2015 rose by 36 percent, to Hr 204.92 billion, while expenses were up by 22.5 percent, to Hr 198.64 billion, and surplus totaled Hr 5.61 billion compared to the deficit of Hr 12.22 billion in January-May 2014.
