6 Ukrainian paratroopers wounded near Kramatorsk, Donetsk region, were finished off by snipers, the Ukrainian Interior Ministry reported on May 14, citing spokesman for the chief of the General Staff, Lieutenant Colonel Oleksiy Dmytrashkovsky.

There were about 30-40 attackers. According to locals, they arrived in 2 Gazelle vans and a Lada car.

He noted that an ambush had been made near the dam.

“The attackers were armed with sniper rifles, using which they killed
those wounded, as well as with RPG launchers that are not in service
with the Ukrainian army. A backpack with ammunition was found at the
site of the ambush,” Dmytrashkovsky said.

He said that as a result of the shootout the enemy had also sustained casualties.

“However, when paratroopers began a retaliatory fight the terrorists
started to pull back their people wounded and dead and began to flee,”
he said.

As reported, 6 Ukrainian paratroopers of the 95th airmobile brigade
of the Ukrainian Armed Forces were killed and 9 more injured during a
clash with unidentified gunmen.
