You're reading: Government allocates Hr 5 billion to Ukrainian army

The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has decided to allocate Hr 5 billion for Ukrainian army, the press service of the government has reported.

The resolution was adopted at a cabinet meeting on April 17, 2014.

The press service reported that the money will be sent to pay cash security to servicemen of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, internal security troops of the Interior Ministry of Ukraine and the State Border Service, organize training with Ukrainian citizens liable for call-up who are based in the reserve, provide food and equipment, individual self-defense, shower and washing services, purchase of medicines, lubricants, fuel, spare parts and pay for the services of military equipment and servicemen transportation and communications services.

The funds will be sent to buy, modernize and repair armament, military equipment and other military assets.

Hr 3.1 billion will be sent to the Defense Ministry, Hr 1.8 billion to the chief department of the internal security troops of the Interior Ministry and Hr 108.7 million to the administration of the State Border Service.

The Finance Ministry is ordered to use funds from the reserve fund of the national budget for the said expenses.
