The working group on judicial reform has developed a draft of amendments to the Constitution according to which the High Council of Justice will be responsible for bringing judges to justice instead of the Verkhovna Rada.
“According to the draft, the authority to agree to bring a judge to responsibility is suggested to be given to the High Council of Justice,” Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration of Ukraine, Chairman of the working group on justice issues Oleksiy Filatov said at a briefing in Kyiv on Monday.
According to him, it is the High Council of Justice and not the parliament that will decide on the limitation of judges’ immunity.
