You're reading: Interior Ministry: demands of invaders of government buildings in Luhansk, Donetsk unacceptable

The talks between government officials and the people who seized administrative buildings in Donetsk and Luhansk are still ongoing, according to the Interior Ministry of Ukraine.

Deputy Interior Minister Serhiy Yarovy said this at a briefing in Kyiv on Thursday.

According to him, the main problem is the unrealistic demands of those who seized the buildings.

“You know the essence of the problem, you know why these buildings
were seized, under whose control all this is being organized and to what
end. The means are generally very simple – this is the Crimean
scenario,” Yarovy said.

According to him, the authorities are still trying to find a compromise.

“At the same time, those slogans that are being voiced by the
invaders, they are generally unacceptable. Nevertheless, I think that in
these complicated, protracted negotiations the principle position of
the Interior Ministry is to find an agreement in order to avoid any
casualties and a military option, although this option also remains on
the table,” he said.
