Italy supports European Union sanctions despite economic loss, Italian Foreign Minister Paolo Gentiloni said.

“Of course, Italy suffers from the sanctions introduced against Russia. But this is the EU’s decision, and we agree with it,” Gentiloni said at a joint press conference with his Ukrainian counterpart Pavlo Klimkin in Kyiv on May 6, answering a question from Interfax-Ukraine about plans to support further sanctions against Russia.
