Kyiv is 90% prepared to host the finals of the Euro 2012 European Football Championship, according to the Ukraine-2012 information center.

The deputy head of the main department for Ukraine’s preparations for and holding Euro 2012, Mykola Maliuha, said this live on Kyiv TV Channel.

According to him, Kyiv is 90% ready for the tournament. The main infrastructure facilities have been completed or are being finished. What remains is to train volunteers, organize an official fan zone and an entertainment program, and to train staff in hotels.

Landscaping work has been started in the city.

The official fan zone will be located in the heart of the capital in Khreschatyk Street and will accommodate up to 100,000-120,000 fans on peak days.
