The Kyiv city budget in the near term will start sending funds of Hr 2.23 billion to public joint-stock company Kyivenergo to pay a debt for the difference in tariffs, the press service of Kyiv city administration has reported, with the reference to Deputy Kyiv city administration Head, Ruslan Kramarenko.

According to the report, the Ukrainian government has approved a
subvention to the Kyiv’s budget worth Hr 2.52 billion to pay the debt
for the difference in the tariffs for heat and water and sewage supply
services.

The funds of the subvention will be sent to public joint-stock
company Kyivvodokanal (Hr 179.5 million), public joint-stock company
Ecostandard (Hr 62.5 million, Darnytska pumped storage plant) and other
boilers of Kyiv (Hr 39.6 million).

Kramarenko told Interfax-Ukraine that payments could start in the
middle of July 2012. The documents required are being agreed with the
Regional Development, Construction, Housing and Utilities Ministry.

“The cabinet reacted to our request and made a justifiable decision
to allocate this sum, and this is a great victory for us, as it will
allow us to retain the tariffs at the existing level and keep them the
lowest in Ukraine,” reads the report, citing Kramarenko.
