You're reading: Kyiv denies presence of foreign troops in Lviv region

The reports on the presence of foreign troops in Lviv region are untrue, the Ukrainian Defense Ministry reported.

Russian Foreign Ministry spokesman Alexander Lukashevich had said earlier on March 5 that Moscow was worried by the presence of 300 Ukrainian paratroopers near Lviv.

Oleksandr Poroniuk, the chief of the Ukrainian Defense Ministry’s regional media center in Lviv, told Interfax-Ukraine that these allegations were untrue.

Any foreign troops could have appeared on ranges in Lviv region only based on a relevant Verkhovna Rada resolution, he said.
