Kyiv is hosting consultations on March 29 on eliminating technical barriers between Ukraine and the Customs Union of Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan.

The consultations are taking place in the Club of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine.

"At present, the Customs Union is forming its legal framework, which consists of normative and technical documentation in the field of technical regulation, in particular, technical regulations and standards. Thus, the issue of removing trade barriers that may arise in this connection, has gained particular importance, as well as that of creating favorable conditions for conducting business," Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine Volodymyr Pavlenko has said.

In turn, the minister for technical regulation of the Eurasian Economic Commission Valery Koreshkov said that it was currently very important to minimize technical barriers for trade among the member states of the Customs Union and the countries that are actively trading with them.

According to him, this is particularly important, since a large package of about six technical regulations will be introduced on July 1 and the industry and businesses have to know which documents will be adopted, and what requirements will be introduced.
