You're reading: Kyiv officials: No casualties among Ukrainian troops in Kramatorsk

The Ukrainian Defense Ministry has said that none of the Ukrainian troops has been injured as a result of a special operation at the airport in Kramatorsk. "There are no deaths or injuries among troops," a source in the Ukrainian Defense Ministry told Interfax. He did not say whether anyone was injured on the opposite side.

The operation involved the Ukrainian troops and military hardware, the source said.

Meanwhile, the ministry’s spokesperson dismissed the reports about the troops joining “the volunteer militia ranks” and their weapons being seized by separatists.

“The Department of Press and Information formally announces that all service members of the Ukrainian Armed Forces remain loyal to the military oath and perform their tasks honestly as designated by commanders in the assigned areas as part of units and formations,” the Defense Ministry said in a statement issued on Tuesday evening.

The ministry has not registered any instances of arms and military hardware being seized, it said.
