Preliminary findings indicate that both protesters and police used tear gas during a demonstration in central Kyiv against the adoption of the bill on the state language policy, the Kyiv city police said.

“Preliminary findings indicate that tear gas was used by both sides,” it said.

Protesters splashed water on members of the Berkut special police
task force and pelted them with bottles. Police do not have any reports
of anyone being injured in the clashes.
