The successful organization and holding of the Euro 2012 European Football Championship gives Ukraine a chance to host other events the UEFA aegis, UEFA Euro 2012 Tournament Director in Ukraine Markiyan Lubkivsky has said.

“After a successful Euro 2012 in Ukraine, the country has a great chance to bid to host other kinds of tournaments under the auspices of UEFA,” he said at a press conference in Kyiv on Monday.

According to Lubkivsky, the Euro 2012 has given an impetus to the development of stewarding and volunteering in Ukraine.

He said UEFA, along with the Ukrainian and Polish governments, made great efforts to set the bar for the tournament so high that it would be difficult for both Brazil and France to beat.

Brazil will host the FIFA World Cup in 2014 and France will host Euro 2016.
