The Republic of Macedonia has introduced a visa-free regime of short-term travel for Ukrainian citizens for the period from May 10 to Oct. 31, 2011.

Ukrainian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Oleksandr Dykusarov said at a briefing on Wednesday that until October 31 Ukrainians would not have to apply for visas to enter Macedonia for a short period of time.

However, he said that under Macedonian legislation, foreigners who enter Macedonia should have health insurance certificates and the amount of money required for their stay in the country – 50 euros per day.

"Citizens of Ukraine travelling to Macedonia by land should also make sure they have multiple-entry visas for the transit crossing of the territory of Romania, Bulgaria, or other countries," he said.
