Tensions ran high in Donetsk in the early hours of Nov. 20, and all city districts were shaken by gunfire and explosions, the City Council press service reported. 

Private homes were hit by shells in the Kuibyshevsky district.

An overnight artillery attack disrupted power supply to the northern and central water stations of Donetskmiskvodokanal. The central water station resumed operation in the morning, and the blackout continued at the northern water station. There is no tap water in the Kyivsky and Voroshylovsky districts and water supply is limited in the Kuibyshevsky and Kalininsky districts.

City services are repairing the damaged utility networks.

A power outage occurred at the Zasiadko Mine at 00:03 on November 20, trapping 231 miners underground. Power supply was partially restored at 01:40. The causes of the blackout are being looked into. As of 06:00 193 miners had been brought to the surface.

A fire and significant damage done to a gas pipeline halted gas supply to a number of residential buildings in the Kuibyshevsky district. Repairmen expect to restore gas supplies on Thursday morning.

The city was relatively quiet as of 10:00.
