MINSK - Belarus and Ukraine hope soon to resolve the problem with supplies of Ukrainian beer to the Belarusian market and exports of Belarusian meat and dairy products to the Ukrainian market, the Ukrainian Embassy in Belarus has said, following the talks held in Minsk.

In addition, the report says, "the parties have expressed hope for an early solution of the issues raised."

A Ukrainian delegation headed by Ukrainian Deputy Economic Development and Trade Minister Volodymyr Pavlenko visited Minsk to solve problems in bilateral trade. The delegation included representatives of the Economic Development and Trade Ministry, the Agricultural Policy and Food Ministry and beer producers.

Earlier, Minister of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko said that after consultations in Minsk, talks would be held at the level of senior government officials.

"My position and the position of the leadership of the Belarusian government are the following: we need to conduct work to remove all trade restrictions on the access of producers to mutual markets," the minister said.
