National joint-stock company Naftogaz Ukrainy has transferred materials on the possible abuse of monopoly by some players on the Ukrainian oil market to the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine, Naftogaz Board Chairman Andriy Kobolev said on ICTV television late on May 25.

“The Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine, the new head of which was recently appointed, should become the main regulator of the issue [the formation of price of fuel]. As soon as it happened, we at once transferred the second case on the issues of the fuel market, which to our opinion affects the market: they allow some market players to use monopoly or partial monopoly in the sector,” he said.

Kobolev also said that the top managers of public joint-stock company Ukrtransnafta were recently reshuffled, and the operations of the previous managers are being audited. A stocktaking of all pipeline oil, a part of which is stored at the facilities of non-state companies, is being conducted.
