Naftogaz Ukrainy has asked Gazprom to deliver 54.9 million cubic meters of natural gas per day on Feb. 27-28, and 10 million cubic meters per day on March 1 - 5, the company said on Feb. 27 evening.

On Feb. 22 – 26, Gazprom failed to supply gas as requested on any of those days, Naftogaz said.

Gazprom should strictly conform with the requests to supply pre-paid gas, which Naftogaz sends in accordance with the contractual procedure and Brussels agreements, the company said.

“Naftogaz expects to receive the requested quantity of pre-paid gas, no more, no less, via the approved points of delivery. The unpredictability of Gazprom’s supplies makes it more difficult for us to work with this supplier,” the company’s spokeswoman Aliona Osmolovska said, according to the press release.

Under Clause 3.3 of the Addendum N33 of Oct. 30, 2014, to the natural gas sale and purchase contract, Naftogaz requests a daily supply of pre-paid gas and Gazprom undertakes to fulfill the request in full, and Naftogaz also decides when and how much it pays in advance, the company recalled.

Gas for European consumers should be transported via Ukraine regardless of Gazprom’s supplies for Naftogaz, it also said.

“Despite the fact that Gazprom has been undersupplying gas to Naftogaz for five days now, Ukraine transits gas to the EU in full,” the company said.
