Washington - The United States does not expect any significant successes in the upcoming negotiations with representatives of Russia, the EU and Ukraine on a solution to the Ukrainian crisis, U.S. Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs Victoria Nuland has said.
She said at a hearing on the situation in Ukraine at the Commission
on Security and Cooperation in Europe on Wednesday that the United
States was not expecting much from four-party talks on Ukraine, but it
is believes it is important to keep the door open to a diplomatic
solution.
As reported, earlier this week U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry and
Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov agreed to hold a quadrilateral
meeting on Ukraine next week in Europe.
Representatives of the U.S., EU, Russia and Ukraine are expected to attend the negotiations.
