You're reading: Obama advises Europe to think over diversification of energy supplies

U.S. President Barack Obama has said that Europe needs to look at how else it can diversify its energy supplies.

He said this at a press conference after the U.S.-EU summit in Brussels earlier on Wednesday.

Obama also said that the U.S. authorities are prepared to allow
natural gas exports in the quantities required for Europe’s daily needs.

Gas will be supplied to the open market, the U.S. president said.

Speaking of possible further sanctions against Russia over the events
in Ukraine, Obama stressed that energy will be at the center of
attention of the U.S. and European efforts.
