Moscow - The Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) mission in Ukraine should be increased by approximately 100-150 people, says Andrei Kelin, Russia's Ambassador to the OSCE.

“The question of expanding the mission is indeed on the agenda, we are considering it. This should not be a very large expansion, probably about 100-150 people,” he said on the Russia-24 television.

At the same time, observers need more equipment, the diplomat said.

Around 300 observers are now working in the Ukrainian conflict zone, he said.

“The zone is huge, and they need not only communications and monitoring systems, but also quite a solid equipment. This should include not only drones, but also Web-cameras in several areas, they need counter-battery radars, completely new ones, gunshot-locating systems that the OSCE did not have before,” he said.

Besides, observers should be trained to use such equipment, Kelin said.
