DONETSK - OSCE Special Monitoring Mission Deputy Chief Monitor Alexander Hug believes that soldiers of the Ukrainian Armed Forces and militants should jointly conduct a mine-clearing operation in the village of Shyrokyne.

The Ukrainian side will clear mines from its part of the village, and the self-proclaimed Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) from its part, Hug was quoted as saying by the Donetsk news agency.

The OSCE official also said that he would like to refer to the example of mine-clearing at the water supply system in Horlivka, where each side – Ukraine and the DPR – clears mines from its sector.
